PlayStation 5 Prices Are Increasing in Europe, UK, Australia and New Zealand

Sony has also stated that other regions across its EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) markets might see price hikes as well.

Sony has announced that the PS5 will receive price hikes in regions across Europe, Australia and New Zealand. In a post on the PlayStation Blog, the company has confirmed that, while some regions will only see a price hike for the PS5 Digital Edition, others will also be getting higher price tags for the standard PS5 with the Blu-ray disc drive.

Europe and the UK will not get price hikes for the standard PS5. Australia and New Zealand, on the other hand, will be seeing price hikes across the board. The company has also confirmed that the standalone Blu-ray disc drive will cost more across these regions as well.

The PS5 Pro’s pricing will remain the same. Sony has also stated that other regions in EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) might also get price hikes down the line. It has referred to these price hikes as being made “with a backdrop of a challenging economic environment.”

This comes shortly after the company announced that the price of PlayStation Plus subscriptions would be increased across various regions like Australia, South Korea, Southeast Asia, and 15 Latin American countries.
