Such is the popularity of Minecraft that Microsoft has announced a Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition retail disc version of the addictive XBLA title for those who can’t download the game online. The announcement was recently made following the release of Skin Pack 4 for the online version of the game.

The retail game is slated to feature all of the same features, and will allow for multiplayer between both the disc version and digital version without any problems. On top of that, you can look forward to new additions that will be forthcoming with the ninth title update.

And yes, it will update itself just fine for future purposes.

As of now, Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition will be arriving in retail stores in the US on April 30th for $19.99. Other releases for Australia, Hong Kong, India, New Zealand, Singapore and Taiwan are slated for early June. Stay tuned for more details, and more importantly, get back to building!
