Hunter Rank (HR) is the metric that determines what content is accessible to players in Monster Hunter Wilds. Over the course of the campaign, rank progression will be limited in order to properly balance the story mode experience. Although you earn Hunter Rank Points (HRP) normally in this mode, they do not actually contribute towards ranking you up, as these initial ranks are solely dependent on story mission completion in order to progress the campaign.

At the conclusion of the campaign questline, any excess HRP that you may have  earned over the course of the campaign is then granted all at one go, and can thus rank you up several times over in the advanced ranking system. This post-game mode works in the traditional manner that players expect from RPGs–perform tasks, earn experience, and rank up.

This guide is everything you need to know about increasing your Hunter Rank in the post-game.

Side Questing

These new post-game missions are some of the best sources for large amounts of HRP, not just from quest completion, but also from beating the target monster that you are tasked to hunt. Ever more quests are unlocked as you achieve higher and higher Hunter Ranks, so be sure to seek out all the NPCs you possibly can.

These side quests also have the added benefit of granting you rewards in the form of weapons and armor, which will come in handy as you strive to access and beat higher-level content.

Monster Hunting

The obvious avenue for gaining HRP, this is less lucrative than simply monster hunting during the course of a targeted mission. Ideally, you will want to farm the most valuable monsters, in order to simultaneously earn HRP, Zenny, and materials, for maximum efficiency.

That is everything there is to know about increasing Hunter Rank in Monster Hunter Wilds.
