In a new Director’s Letter for Monster Hunter Wilds, Capcom’s Yuya Tokuda outlined upcoming balancing plans for the action RPG. These include “upward adjustments” for the Hammer and “looking at other overall weapon balance adjustments.” The team aims to release these changes by the end of May or in Title Update 2 (due this Summer).
“Some unintentionally overpowered things will be adjusted downward, but we will also be adjusting other parts upward, making for a generally balanced update,” said Tokuda. One thing is for sure – the Corrupted Mantle is getting nerfed with Title Update 1 since it could build “more damage than expected.” In return, other Mantles will be “adjusted upwards.”
Future updates will also include user interface and UX improvements for item restocking, checking skills, and queuing for multiplayer quests in future updates. The Seikret and camera during hunts will also receive some adjustments, though there’s currently no ETA.
As always, stay tuned for more details. Monster Hunter Wilds is available for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. Title Update 1 goes live on April 3rd and includes Mizutsune and Arch-Tempered Rey Dau. Players can also look forward to more challenging versions of existing Tempered monsters by the end of May.
