Monster Hunter Wilds - PS5 Pro

Capcom dropped tons of new details for Monster Hunter Wilds during the recent Monster Hunter Showcase, including a trailer revealing a new locale and monsters. However, it also finally outlined the PS5 Pro update going live at launch later this month.

As series producer Ryozo Tsujimoto detailed, those playing Wilds on PS5 Pro can take advantage of two modes – Prioritize Resolution and Prioritize Framerate. The former features ray tracing support for reflections, especially on water surfaces. Though not mentioned, PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) is also supported, likely on Prioritize Framerate to upscale to 4K output.

PS5 Pro players can experience the second open beta (which starts on February 6th and adds Arkveld as a new hunt). However, it won’t take advantage of the console, and players must wait until launch for the full game.

Monster Hunter Wilds is available on February 28th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. Check out our feature for more details on what to expect.
